The article continues the preceding evaluation of natural gas combusting boiler house operation during the heating period 1999/2000 published in VVI 1/2001. The presented contribution contains the evaluation of the impact of three interventions in the boiler house implemented before starting the heating period 2000/2001. The boiler controller switching difference was enlarged from 8 to 10 K. The switching-over period of boilers in cascade was extended from 100 to 120 h and all filters were cleaned out rigorously. The indicated interventions lead to more continuous and more stable operation of boilers which is documented by indicated graphs and tables.

The author informs about current trends with designing the technical equipment of buildings and draws the attention to the indispensable interconnection between environment engineering equipment and other technical equipment for their effective operation, maintenance and administration.

The article describes contemporary situation in refrigeration for air-conditioning. New refrigerants and legal limitations for use of R 22 are mentioned However, for reduction of energy consumption, an integration of refrigeration plant into the complete energy system of the air-conditioned building must be considered during planning and operation phase.

The article presents the basic summary of biomass combustion observations in relation to family-houses heating.

The article informs about legislation changes representing the reaction of the Czech Republic to the Direction of the European Union Council concerning the field of atmosphere cleanness preservation. It explains the newly introduced terms and indicates the allowable limit values of the most important harmful substances from the point of harmful impacts on human health and on environment view.

The paper elaborates the modelling and simulation work that was carried out to support the design team of the ventilation and air-conditioning system in the future gallery situated in the Sovovy Mlyny. One of the main disadvantages of the traditional engineering design methods for HVAC systems is the underestimation of the impact of thermal accumulation in the building structure. This often leads to oversized heating and cooling system components, particularly in the case of historical buildings usually with very heavy constructions. The current study helped not only to lower the investment costs to a significant extent but most of all to minimize the possible changes in construction and appearance of a valuable historical building.
